Melwood CEO Frey-Angel Shares Exciting Melwood News!

Posted in: Melwood News, Camp Accomplish

We welcome Janice Frey-Angel, Melwood President / CEO as she shares some of exciting news about Melwood! Exciting opportunities occur in the summer, and this certainly held true at Melwood this past summer. In the past three months, we began work at Ft. Meade, our largest and most complex federal contract to date. And we’ve already received kudos for our quality work at the US Coast Guard Yard, which launched in the spring. Melwood earned a national peer accreditation, CARF’s highest endorsement, for its Community Services and Employment Services. Melwood’s Employee Support Services was a finalist for the national APSE Best Practice Award, recognizing outstanding accomplishment in promoting integrated employment. A new learning garden and more accessible ropes course improved the inclusive experience at Melwood’s Camp Accomplish, which drew the attention of area news outlets. Our newly-elected board officers bring a wealth of experience that will help guide Melwood into the future. I would also like to take this opportunity to introduce Denise Hyater-Lindenmuth, Melwood's new Chief Development Officer. Denise joined Melwood just after Labor Day and is responsible for strategic oversight of donor stewardship, corporate marketing and communication. And finally, I would like to thank past board chair Andy Colevas for his service and support to bring us closer to a world where people with disabilities are fully included. Sincerely, Janice Frey-Angel, MSW President / CEO
