Total Facility Management
Melwood has three Total Facility Management Services contracts with U.S. Government agencies.
Melwood was selected in 1998 for the task of bringing the new George Washington Carver Center through the transition from construction to occupation, and carried Total Facility Management from day one. A short time later Melwood took over the total management of a large secure facility in Washington, DC. Beginning July 1, 2011, Melwood assumed responsibility for building and grounds operations at Ft. Meade, a 5,500 acre Army base in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
We have also been selected by many of our customers as the "Vendor of Choice" for bundling, consolidation, and management of adjunct services to existing contracts. Melwood offers its customers the following services as total facility managers:
- Building Operations & Maintenance including: Energy Management & Water Treatment Elevator Maintenance; General Construction, Repairs, Renovations; Locksmith Services; Lighting; and Tenant Environmental Settings
- Cafeteria, Convenience Store and Vending Services
- Copy Services
- Mailroom and Messenger Services
- Shipping and Receiving Functions
- Shuttle Bus Operations
- Plus our traditional related Custodial and Grounds services
Our total facility management teams and our qualified subcontract partners use state of the art equipment and technology, environmentally safe, Government-approved products, and proven management and scheduling methods. We utilize built-in quality control, competitive purchasing of supplies and equipment, ongoing development of staff and workers, solid procurement methodologies for qualified subcontractors and a proactive Tenant First philosophy.
