How We Help

Personal Enrichment Program

The Personal Enrichment Program (PEP) provides quality day habilitation services for people with developmental disabilities not focused on employment. These people may have retired or chosen not to work.

Personal Enrichment ProgramPEP enhances the quality of life for individuals by providing opportunities to experience and grow in many aspects of life including recreation, socialization, daily living skills, mobility training, and cultural enrichment, with each complementing that person´s own talents, abilities and personal goals. Examples of PEP activities include volunteering to help in a local "Meals on Wheels" program and learning plant care in a Melwood greenhouse.

PEP´s goal-oriented programs develop and maintain functional skills, and provide opportunities to develop valuable non-work-related adult roles in the community. PEP is designed to maximize the independent functioning for the 57 persons currently served at two sites, one in Prince George´s and one in Charles County.

For information on enrolling in the Personal Enrichment Program, contact Leticia DeOliveira, Intake Coordinator at (301) 599-2703.

People with disabilities enjoy many activities in the Personal Enrichment Program.
